A bag for transporting and/or preserving products such as fresh fruits and/or vegetables, said bag being formed from a plastics film 6 having a perforated lower part 8 for receiving products, and an unperforated upper part 9. The plastics film is made with a bioplastic; perhaps 30% bioplastic, namely corn starch, cereal starch, potato starch or lactic acid. The bag may be compostable. A method for forming the bag may comprise forming the ventilation perforations or holes by passing the film between a smooth roller (2, figure 1) and a magnetic roller (3, figure 1) bearing a perforated metal plate (4, figures 1 and 2). The perforations on the metal plate (5, figure 2) may be surrounded by a raised border. The plate may partially surround the magnetic roller (3, figure 1) leaving an unperforated sector (7, figure 1). |
