titleOfInvention Thermodynamic energy transfer panel
abstract A thermodynamic energy transfer panel 1a, suitable for use with a refrigerant, includes a panel with one or more internal flow channels 2 through which a heat exchange medium may be circulated. The panel has an inlet 3 through which a refrigerant at sub-zero temperature may flow and a plurality of outlets 4 that may be connected to a heat exchanger/compressor. The inlet diameter may be smaller than the outlet diameters, possibly in the ratio of 2.3:1. The cross section of the flow channels may be hexagonal and incorporate T-junctions to split the flow into 2, 4, 8 or 16 channels. The flow channels may follow a zig-zag route through the panel. The refrigerant may be a HFC or non-halogenated hydrocarbon and the panel may comprise a lightweight thermally conductive material, such as aluminium, which may be powder coated. Vapourised refrigerant may be compressed and further heat energy added to it prior to entering the heat exchanger.
