titleOfInvention A sports mask system
abstract A sports mask 100 comprising head band 102, face band 104, the face band comprising an air flow valve 1040 (see fig 7) including an airflow resistance module (fig. 16) to vary the flow of air in the valve. Preferably the air flow resistance is automatic and/or remotely controlled, e.g. via a motor, and the mask is paired with a wearable health/fitness monitor. Also claimed is a valve suitable for a sports mask comprising a valve grill 10412, an airflow valve 10422 below the grill, an airflow cavity beneath the valve, and a resistance varying module 10420 including a slider 10426 to increase or decrease resistance of airflow (fig. 16). Also claimed is a sports mask with head band, face band, mouth and nose unit, and air flow valve, the air flow valve comprising a resistance module, and a vital measurement parameter device 105 (fig. 14) such as a pulse oximeter. In use the measurement from the sensor can communicate (e.g. via Bluetooth ) with a mobile phone or wearable fitness device to inform adjustments to the air flow resistance (fig 15).
