A method of preparing an aluminum oxide-carbon nanotube composite powder material comprises: inputting a carbon-containing gas such as a methane or an acetylene, when employing chemical vapor deposition, employing a metallic organic precursor as a raw material and a metallic nanoparticle formed at a surface of an aluminum oxide powder as a catalyst, and maintaining a temperature to stay between 400 and 800°C, so as to grow in situ a carbon nanotube, and obtain an aluminum oxide and carbon nanotube composite powder material. By varying a plurality of parameters such as a weight of an organic material, a gas flow or composition, and a reaction temperature, decomposition of an organic material and formation of metallic nanoparticles and carbon nanotubes can be adjusted, thereby controlling a powder size and microstructure. |
