titleOfInvention | Compositions, methods and kits to detect adenovirus nucleic acids |
abstract | The disclosed invention is related to methods, compositions, kits and isolated nucleic acid sequences for detecting adenovirus nucleic acids. The methods involve contacting a sample suspected of containing the adenovirus with at least two amplification oligomers (primers) for generating an amplicon, wherein each of said amplification oligomers is 10-50 nucleotides in length and wherein they hybridise to regions within the target adenovirus selected from nucleotides 1-99 and from nucleotides 83-175 of Accession Number AB330090.1 (SEQ ID No. 47), generating said amplicon, and detecting said amplicon. Methods of detecting an adenovirus comprising contacting a test sample with any one of a number of specified probe sequences and determining if a probe:target duplex is formed are also claimed. Compositions and isolated nucleic acids comprising various specified amplification oligomers and/or detection probe oligomers are also claimed. |
