abstract | Method for the treatment of a contaminated material comprising industrial furnace ashes and digestates, the process comprising: i) treating the contaminated material with an acidic composition; ii) treating the resultant mixture with an alkaline composition; and iii) granulating the mixture. The acidic composition may be a liquid, and may comprise sulphuric, phosphoric or organic acids. The alkali composition may be a powder. The digestates may be anaerobic digestates derived from the food industry, the animal rearing industry or preferably sewage processing. The contaminated material may comprise a mix of slurries with the digestates. The resultant material may be of use in preparing a fertiliser, a liming agent and/or a growth promoter. |
