Disclosed is a polymer hard coat comprising at least 49wt% of additive particles, such as silicone dioxide (SiO2), indium tin oxide (ITO), antimony tin oxide (ATO), fluorinated tin oxide (FTO), aluminium oxide (Al2O3), titanium dioxide (TiO2) or zinc oxide (ZnO), in a polymer, such as polyethylene terephthalate (PET), cyclic olefin polymer (COP), cyclic olefin copolymer (COC), polycarbonate (PC), polyimide (PI) or poly (methyl methacrylate) (PMMA). Also disclosed is a dispersion comprising at least 49 wt% of additive particles, a polymerisable monomer, a dispersant and a solvent. Upon polymerization the dispersion forms a hard coat with a haze of at most 0.5% and a transmission of at least 90%. Further disclosed is a method of making a hard coat comprising forming a dispersion, applying the dispersion to one side of a substrate, and polymerizing the dispersion. The hard coat which has a haze of at most 0.5% and a transmission of at least 90% can be coated on a flexible device comprising a plastic organic light emitting diode (pOLED) display. |
