titleOfInvention | Crystalline form II of tetraacetylethylenediamine |
abstract | A new crystalline form of TAED (Form II) is disclosed which is prepared by melt crystallisation of the known crystalline form of TAED (Form I). The new form of this compound is characterised by, inter alia, powder X-ray diffraction, FT-IR spectroscopy and Raman spectroscopy and exhibits high solubility and dissolution rate in water at 20°C as compared to crystalline Form I of TAED. Also disclosed are solid compositions comprising said new form of TAED in which the compound acts as a bleach activator. Compositions are also disclosed comprising additional agents such as at least one of the following - further bleaching activators, bleaching agents, surfactants, wetting agents, pH modifiers, chelating agents, stabilizing agents, diluents, glidants, binding agents, effervescing agents, disintegrating agents and coating agents. |
