| abstract |
An ostomy bag 1 has a flange 1 adjoining at least one pouch 2; the pouch having integrated diagnostic device 4 for detection of urinary tract infection (e.g. by detecting the presence of leucocytes or white blood cells within urine) and an inlet 5 leading to a waste collection space 6 defined by two opposing surfaces of two walls 7, 8. The diagnostic device may be a detection cell having an indicator panel with a plurality of adjacent indicators and may be a laminated device. A method of producing the ostomy bag and of diagnosing a urinary tract in an urostomate using the bag is also included. |
