Fungicide for the treatment of fungal pathogens causing mycotoxins |
abstract |
The present invention relates to a fungicidal composition suitable for the reduction or elimination of mycotoxin-inducing fungi and mycotoxins from crop vegetation, wherein the composition comprises a bicarbonate salt and a surfactant system. An aqueous spray solution prepared from the fungicide composition has a surface tension below 40mN/m and has a contact angle less than 60°. Also claimed is an aqueous spray solution which when applied to vegetation results in crystals of the bicarbonate salt of size less than 0.4mm on the plant surface upon evaporation of the water of the aqueous spray solution. Preferably the bicarbonate salt is potassium bicarbonate and the surfactant system comprises a dispersant and a material which acts as a spreader and sticker. In one embodiment the surfactant system comprises sodium dioctyl sulfosuccinate and sodium lauryl sulphate. |
