titleOfInvention Fabric
abstract An antibacterial fabric having at least a first and second layers, which are a first layer for contact with the human skin and a second layer opposed to the first layer, wherein the second layer and optionally the first layer comprises antibacterial copper ions, wherein the second layer comprises antibacterial copper ions in a concentration higher than that of the first layer. The first layer may comprise a material with hydrophilic groups which are capable of absorbing moisture from the skin. The first layer may comprise cellulose or bamboo viscose. The second layer may be formed of fibres which are coated with copper ions or contain copper ions. The first layer may be a non-woven fabric, such as a knitted fabric. The antibacterial fabric may be used as a wound dressing or an article of clothing. The fabric when used in a wound dressing may be used for the promotion of wound healing or treatment of bacterial infection such as MRSA.
