abstract A carrier bag has an anti microbial agent on its inner surface. This could be in the form of a lining or a coating and the bag could be woven and/or polymeric. Ideally the anti microbial agent is applied to at least 95% of the bags inner surface as well as to its external surface and handles. The agent could be silver ions entrained in a polymeric carrier. Ideally the agent reduces the concentration of viable pathogens buy at least 95% in 24 hours.
