abstract In an apparatus and method, one or more lasers 10 initiate a colour change in, measure the position of an edge relative to a printed image of, and cut a supply of, linerless labels 2. Use of a supply of linerless labels may allow for a smaller supply reel 1 size. Use of a laser 10 may have advantage over standard blade cutting arrangements in that lasers do not tend to accumulate cut material.
