| abstract |
A printing apparatus 1, including: printing means 5; conveying means 13; print control means 17; and correcting means 17 configured to determine, in printing an image on each of a plurality of sheets of the same type of print medium, a correction value for correcting printing position shift between a plurality of nozzle arrays based on an inspection pattern printed on a preceding region of the print medium. The correcting means 17 subsequently corrects the printing position between the plurality of nozzle arrays in the subsequent region of the print medium by using the determined correction value. Further the correcting means corrects, in printing on a leading end region of a sheet of print medium subsequent to the preceding sheet of print medium, the printing position shift by using the correction value used in printing on the preceding sheet of print medium. There is also provided a method for correcting the printing position shift using the correction value based on an inspection pattern. |
