abstract |
A proppant particle for use in hydrocarbon production using a fracking operation on a subterranean formation comprising kerogen and/or oil shale, the proppant particle comprising a plurality of pores having a surface area of at least 5 m2/g and further comprising at least one treatment chemical sorbed to at least part of a solid surface of the pores. There is also disclosed a method of producing hydrocarbons from a subterranean formation comprising any of kerogen and oil shale using the proppant particles and a fracking fluid comprising the proppant particles. |
