The device includes water pressure fuzes 26, 28 operated by removal of safety pin 22 to depress rods 62, 64 and rotate detonator 30 into armed position 112. A switch 78 activates a computer (140, figure 3) which is optically linked to the mine computer (136, figure 3). The mine computer regularly instructs the computer to test the safety device, failure of either computer causing the ignition device (144, figure 3) to be neutralised. A pyrotechnic lock 84, 86 releases rod 96 of a pinion-operated delay mechanism. At the end of the delay, rod 96 is freed to push pin 40 out of rotor groove 42 and ball 90 frees rod 72 so that member 36 presses on rotor face 110 to rotate detonator 30. In the armed position member 116 engages in bore 118, causing switch 120 to send a signal. |
