titleOfInvention | Multi-node predictive dialing for scalability |
abstract | An outbound calling system comprising: a controller 210; at least two media servers (or predictive dialling nodes) 220, 221 connected to receive commands from the controller and capable of handling call legs 242 with customers and nailups with agents (i.e. registration or logged in agents in a given media server); wherein: each of the at least two media servers capable of forming nailups with some of the agents; each of the at least two media servers capable of dialling customers; each of the at least two media servers capable of analyzing call results; when a customer call leg 242 is in a different media server 221 than an agent nailup, the controller is capable of causing the agent nailup to be moved (e.g. from Media server 220) to the media server 221 handling the customer call leg 242, and connecting the agent with the customer. It provides improved techniques for operating an outbound calling system which is scalable beyond the capacity of a single node system, thereby increasing the number of agents that can be supported by the system. It provides multiple media servers in the system and it ensures that the customers call and the agent nailup are handled by the same media server. The agents may be using the system in a call center. |
