titleOfInvention Improvements in an electro-therapeutic device
abstract 250,987. Ebel, S. S. April 20, 1926. Converting electric currents ; transformers.- An apparatus for administering electricity comprises an induction coil 21, an interrupter 6 and a rheostat 16 having a rotating contact arm 14 which may be driven by clockwurk at a controlled speed. The arm 14 moves over studs 17, the centre one of winch is connected by a wire 30 to the primary winding of the induction coil, the arm 14 being connected to the interrupter. The interrupter consists of a lever 6 pivoted at 7 and carrying an armature 8 which is attracted by electromagnets 4 during the passage of current. The opposite end of the lever 6 carries a spring 9 which bears against a contact pin 10 which can be moved longitudinally by a rack 11 and wheel 12. Current is supplied to the induction coil through the interrupter and rheostat by a battery 1. Electrodes 29 are connected to the secondary winding of the induction coil, and the iron core 23 of the latter can be adjusted by strings 26 attached to the core and passing round a wheel 25 which may carry a pointer moving over a dial.
