Handle with pressure source for multi-lumen balloon catheter |
abstract |
A system for administering ischemic post conditioning comprising a catheter 200 with at least one expandable member 300 and a handle 100 having a pressure source 101 e.g. gas canister, within the handle is described. The expandable member 300 is disposed in fluid communication with the pressure source 101 and inflated/deflated by associated lumen (203, 204, Fig 4B). The inflation lumen 203 is independent from the deflation lumen 204. The catheter is configured to receive a guidewire. The pressure source 101 is positioned entirely within the handle 100, the pressure source 101 coupled with the catheter 200. Additionally, the catheter 200 and handle 100 are free from additional assembly and preparation procedures such that it is ready-to-use within a variety of vessel sizes. |
