| abstract |
A self-adhesive tag is formed on a sheet or web of printable media of paper or plastic, e.g. polypropylene. The media is pre-printed and a coating is applied to protect the pre-printing and to allow for further printing and/or writing on. The media may have a first coating which is receptive to ink followed by two coats of a varnish to provide protection. The varnish may additionally allow for inkless thermal printing. The sheet or web may be provided with additional printed labels. The tags are produced on large rolls or on flat sheets. The tags are designed to be attached to fragile and easily deformable objects, in particular blood bags or other flexible hospital bags for fluids such as saline, drugs, food supplements or plasma solutions. |
