abstract A human in vitro model system of the blood cerebrospinal fluid barrier (BCSFB) comprising human choroid plexus cells is disclosed. The choroid plexus cells may be of the human choroid plexus papilloma cell line HIBCPP, and the cells may be grown on a filter membrane of a transwell® filter. A method for producing said model system, comprising the step of culturing human choroid plexus cells on the filter membrane of a transwell® filter is also disclosed, along with the use of human choroid plexus cells as a human in vitro model system of the BCSFB.
