| abstract | A system 10 for providing adaptive decision support comprises a local outcome report 24 that documents a medical outcome, a difference engine 28 that compares the local outcome report 24 to a national outcome report 30 (which incorporates de-identified local medical data aggregated into a larger pool of regional, national, or international medical data) and generates a localised rule 34 (to better reflect personal medical characteristics). And a rule engine 12 that receives patient data 16 and applies the localised rule 34 from the difference engine 28 to the patient data 16 to produce a prescribed treatment 20. The prescribed treatment may include variances based upon the demographics of the patient, or may provide different prescribed treatments specific to the local area or region of that particular patient. |
