titleOfInvention A high altitude helicopter
abstract A high altitude helicopter 1 comprises a shroud 3 enclosing part of the rotor and spraying nozzles 4 arranged on the shroud to spray air / fluid onto the rotor blades 2. The fluid sprayed onto the rotor blades is contained in tanks 5 on board the helicopter or supplied via an air line 7, and is pumped to the spray nozzles. The air / fluid blown onto the rotor blades is denser that the surrounding atmosphere, and the rotor is thereby able to provide more lift to the helicopter. The shroud surrounding the rotor may be fixed, or retractable. The fluid sprayed onto the rotor may be a gas or a liquid, or a mixture of the two. Ideally, the denser air which has been processed by the rotor would be suck up and recycled. By this method, the helicopter is able to fly at high altitudes.
