abstract 1,2,4-triazoles useful as 5-hydroxytryptamine agonists <EMI ID=1.1 HE=52 WI=131 LX=284 LY=711 TI=CF> Compounds of formula (I), or pharmaceutically acceptable salts, solvates or hydrates thereof, wherein each R1 is independently various substituents, m is 1 or 2, R2, is C1-6 alkyl, aryl optionally substituted by one or more halogen, CO2H, C1-6 alkyl or C1-6 alkoxy groups or C3-8 cycloalkyl, R3, R4, R5, R6 and R7 are independently H or C1-6 alkyl, -A-B- is -C=CH- or -N-CH2-, T is -(CH2)n- or C3-8 cycloalkyl, n is 0 or an integer from 1-4, X is O or S, Y and Z are independently CH or N and W is a bond, -C(R9)(R10)- or C3-8 cycloalkyl wherein R9 and R10 are independently hydrogen, C1-6 alkyl or aryl. In particular, -A-B- is -N-CH2- and the compounds therefore piperidine derivatives, R3 is H, T is (CH2)1-3, X is O and Y and Z are both CH. The compounds are 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT) receptor agonists, in particular 5-HT1A receptor agonists, and may therefore be useful in treating various diseases, especially anxiety and depression. Processes of preparing the compound include a ring closure step to form the triazole ring.
