Drying Waste Feedstock Using Gas Turbine Exhaust Gasses |
abstract |
The exhaust gasses from a gas turbine 101 are directed into a dryer vessel 200 for drying or thermally treating a waste feedstock material, the hot gasses directly contacting the feedstock and the connection 105 between the turbine 101 and the dryer vessel 200 precluding the introduction of air into the dryer vessel, the dryer vessel being connected to a processing unit 300, 400 for receiving the material after drying or thermally processing and forming it into granular, pellet or prill form. The apparatus may ensure all of the exhaust gasses from the gas turbine enter the dryer vessel. The gas turbine may also generate electricity 102. The hot exhaust gasses may heat the feedstock material indirectly. The dryer vessel 200 may act as a silencer for the gas turbine. The units may be skid-mounted on a trailer or the like (figures 2-4) such that they are portable, thus the apparatus can easily be moved between waste-generation sites. |
