titleOfInvention Systems and methods for decreasing settling times in a mass spectrometer
abstract Systems and methods are provided for optimizing the performance of a mass spectrometer system when multiple measurements are made. The total settling time of different components or stages of a mass spectrometer, such as a tandem (e.g. MS/MS) mass spectrometer, are decreased by optimally ordering the measurements. The mass spectrometer 400 may comprise a first analyser followed by a second analyser MS-2.When a variety of measurements are to be made, the overall time may be reduced by ordering the measurements so as to minimize the overall settling time.
