abstract | A combination for protecting plants against attack by phytopathogenic micro-organisms and a method of controlling or preventing phytopathogenic damage using this combination comprising a silver salt, acibenzolar-S-methyl, and optionally a suitable carrier or diluent therefor. The silver salt is selected from silver acetate, silver chloride, silver iodide, silver nitrate, silver oxide, silver sulfadiazine and silver sulfide. A method of reducing damage in a plant caused by acibenzolar-S-methyl by applying to the plant or locus thereof a silver salt simultaneously or sequentially is also claimed. As well as a method of controlling or preventing phytopathogenic damage in a plant, a method of protecting a plant against phytopathogenic damage and a method of improving the growing characteristics of a plant. These methods all involve applying the combination to the plant or locus thereof simultaneously or sequentially. |
