A method for forming an article having a decorative surface comprising; [a] screen printing an ink having a curable composition, and the curable composition comprises a polyisocyanate, such as a diisocyanate or triisocyanate, a component comprising isocyanate reactive groups, such as an acrylic polymer having reactive groups, and a solvent or solvent blend in which the curable composition is soluble, such as cyclohexanone, isophorone, diacetone alcohol, N-methylpyrrolidone, methoxypropyl acetate, isopropoxylethyl acetate, ethoxyethyl propionate, ethyl lactate, onto at least one surface of a thermoformable polymeric sheet, such as one selected from polycarbonate, polyethyleneterephthalate glycol (PETG), acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS), thermoplastic olefin, polypropylene, acrylic compounds; [b] curing the curable composition; and [c] thermoforming the printed sheet to obtain a decorated article. Also disclosed is an article having a decorative surface using the method. |
