A cissing inhibitor for cationic electrodeposition comprises a polymer having a number-average molecular weight of 1000-50000 and is prepared by polymerising a monomer mixture containing [a] at least 20%, by weight of the mixture, of a polymerisable unsaturated group-containing monomer having a hydrocarbon chain with a carbon number of 6 or more, such as hexyl (meth)acrylate, ethylhexyl (meth)acrylate, octyl (meth)acrylate, nonyl (meth)acrylate, dodecyl (meth)acrylate, stearyl (meth)acrylate and [b], in an amount greater than the amount of monomer [a], a polymerisable unsaturated group-containing monomer having an amino group, such as dimethylaminoethyl (meth)acrylate, diethylaminoethyl (meth)acrylate, dimethylaminopropyl (meth)acrylate, diethylaminopropyl (meth)acrylate. |
