abstract |
A valve 300 comprises a valve body comprising an inlet and an outlet; a channel 319 within the valve body connecting the inlet to the outlet; an internal surface of the channel defining a chamber 325; a movable flow control element 323 disposed in the chamber, wherein a surface hardness of the movable flow control element is substantially similar to a surface hardness of the internal surface of the channel 319; and wherein at least one surface of the movable flow control element 323 forms a continuous gas- permeable contact with the internal surface of the channel 319. Advantageously the flow control valve may be used to avoid flaring in a hand-held torch such as a butane-propane mixture fuelled torch. Also disclosed are further inventions to a metallic filter and a valve assembly having a metallic filter. |
