titleOfInvention Driven pendulum
abstract A driven pendulum comprising a vertically moveable member 20 with drive means 14 and sensing means 18, an adapter secured to the vertically moveable member and a flexibly resilient (preferably rubber) mounting membrane 27 detachably mounted to the adapter member and extending in a downward direction with an aperture in it. A line securement means 32 with a suspension line 30 extends through the aperture with a bob 38 detachably attached at the end of it. Preferably the drive means includes a coil means 15 to generate an electromagnetic field to drive the pendulum. There may additionally be a temperature monitoring means with control means to alter the period of oscillation in responsive to a change in temperature.
