titleOfInvention | Raised panel providing crawlspace encapsulation and drainage system |
abstract | A continuous plastic drainage panel 21 has legs (22) provided by protuberances which allow water to flow in a space (24, fig 2) beneath it. The panel covers the floor 17 of a crawlspace having peripheral foundation walls 11. The panel 21 preferably has upwardly extending portions for covering the walls 11. The dirt floor 17 may be provided with a peripheral drainage trench and sump pit 19 including a pump and discharge pipe 20. A plastic liner barrier layer 25 may be provided above the panel 21 and preferably comprises a multi-ply, fibre-reinforced, durable plastic film laminate. The liner 25 may have vertical extensions 25a bonded to the top of the walls 11. An insulation board (26, figs 4,5) may be provided adjacent the walls 11. The panel 21 prevents penetration of ground water and vapour into the crawlspace. |
