titleOfInvention | Detachable power supply for the temperature controller of an appliance |
abstract | A detachable power supply for the temperature controller of an appliance comprises: a connector 18 formed on a temperature controller 10 having a probe 16, the connector having catches 24,26; and a counterpart 40 for supplying power to the connector, the counterpart having clips 52,54 for receiving and releasably retaining the catches. Each catch may comprise a ball 30 and each clip may be formed from resilient fingers 58 which may grip the ball. Electrical contacts 20,22 of the connector and electrical contacts 48,50 of the counterpart mate when the balls and clips engage. The ball and clip mechanism may be located between the contacts. The ball and catch mechanism is such that the connector may be released from the appliance without disturbing the appliance. |
