titleOfInvention | 1,3-Disubstituted 2-(phenylazo)imidazolium cationic direct dyes, 2-(2-fluorophenylazo)imidazole & dyeing compositions thereof, especially for hair |
abstract | There are provided (i) a cationic dye formula (1) <EMI ID=1.1 HE=34 WI=55 LX=1006 LY=159 TI=CF> <PC>[wherein <DL TSIZE=4> <DT>R1<DD>is an unsubstituted or substituted C1-C14alkyl or an aryl radical; <DT>X<-><DD>is an anion; <DT>R3<DD>is hydrogen, an unsubstituted or substituted C1-C14alkyl, aryl radical, C1-C6alkoxy, cyanid, nitro or </DL> halide; n is 1 or 2; and if n is 1, then R2 is hydrogen, unsubstituted or substituted C1-C14alkyl; or if n is 2, then R2 is an unsubstituted or substituted C1-C14alkylen; and wherein alkyl and alkylene above (and for the alkyl portion in "alkoxy" below) are optionally interrupted by at least one hetero atom (such as O, S, N or NH), and, where the numbers of carbon atoms is 5 or more, may also be monocyclic or polycyclic] (ii) a cationic dye of formula (18) <EMI ID=1.2 HE=31 WI=45 LX=640 LY=1256 TI=CF> <PC>[wherein R7 is C1-C6alkoxy or halide, and R1, R3 and X<-> are as defined above] and (iii) a compound of formula (21) <EMI ID=1.3 HE=22 WI=54 LX=647 LY=2056 TI=CF> Further, the present invention relates to compositions thereof, especially comprising other dyes, to processes for the preparation thereof and to the use thereof in the dyeing of organic material, such as keratin, wool, leather, silk, paper, cellulose or polyamides, especially keratin-containing fibres, cotton or nylon, and preferably human hair. Such compositions may comprise in addition (a) at least a single further direct dye and/or an oxidative agent, (b) at least a single oxidative dye or (c) at least a single oxidative dye and an oxidative agent. |
