abstract |
An electrodepostion film is coated onto a substrate. Subsequently three aqueous coatings are applied to the coated substrate in a wet on wet manner. Once all of the coatings have been applied they are all simultaneously cured. The innermost of the aqueous coatings comprises an acrylic resin, polyurethane and a curing agent. The outermost of the aqueous coatings is clear. The innermost coating has a water absorption rate of at most 10% and a water dissolving rate of at most 5%. The acrylic resin has Tg = -50 to 20{C, acid value = 2-60 mgKOH/g and hydroxy group value = 10-120 mgKOH/g. The polyurethane has acid value = 5-50 mgKOH/g. |
