abstract |
The voids have a length to height > 9:1 and are 5-100 micrometers long. The film contains more than 6 voids in the vertical direction. The voids form between the (preferably linear) polyester matrix and polyolefin (or other incompatible polymer) particles as the extruded and quenched film is biaxially orientated, prior to it being heat set. Preferably the polyester is PET or its copolymer, and the polyolefin is polyethylene or polypropylene. The sheet can be a layer in an imaging member, optionally also containing photosensitive silver halide and a white reflective layer. |
