titleOfInvention A heat exchanger
abstract A heat exchanger comprises a casing 20 having an inlet 21 and an outlet disposed at opposite ends, a helical member 30 for producing a spiral flow path 31 of a fluid and extends around an energy source 10 which is sealed against the casing by a seal member 40. The helical member 30 may be a spiral spring member. The energy source 10 may be electrical energy and may be made to discharge a high voltage for generating ozone, anions or electrolyte, or made of permeable material and adapted to transmit infrared or ultraviolet light to sterilize the fluid. The casing 20 and helical member 30 may have fins (22, 32, fig 4) which generate turbulent flow disposed on the inside of the casing 20 and on the periphery of the helical member 30 respectively. The helical member 30 may be integrally formed with the casing 20 and have fins (32, fig 5) disposed in the spiral flow path 31, and may be formed as two separate members (fig 6).
