abstract |
A sulphamate compound is used in a medicament for the prevention of auto-immune diseases. The sulphamate compound is based on a polycyclic compound containing at least two ring components, the sulphamate being attached directly to one of the rings and at least one of the rings being a heterocycle. In a preferred embodiment the polycyclic moiety is based on a steroidal structure with the heterocycle replacing the D ring and with the sulphamate being attached to the A ring such as: <EMI ID=1.1 HE=48 WI=77 LX=525 LY=799 TI=CF> <PC>wherein R is a sulphamate group of structure -OSO 2 NR' 2 and D 1 is the heterocycle. The preferred embodiments for the heterocycle component are lactones or lactams. |
