abstract A water-soluble container containing a composition comprises a member 1, to introduce rigidity to the package, having at least two openings 3 positioned on either side of the member 1, and a film closing each opening 3. The member 1 is preferably of greater thickness than the film and may be formed by injection moulding or may be in the form of a wire framework forming the edges of the container. The film may be wrapped around the member 1 by shrink-wrapping or thermoformed around the member 1, and the member 1 and the film may comprise a poly (vinyl alcohol). The container may comprise at least two compartments (fig 5 and 6), where each opening may be closed by a film and each film may have different dissolution characteristics. The composition may be a particulate solid, gel or liquid and may be a dishwashing, fabric care, surface care, water softening, laundry, detergent, rinse-aid, disinfectant, an antibacterial or antiseptic composition, a refill composition for a trigger-type spray or an agriculture composition. The shape of the container provided by the member 1 can be of various standard geometrical shapes such as a cube, cuboid, rhomboid, pyramid, dodecahedron or cylinder.
