abstract | A polish composition, preferably for use as a furniture polish for porous surfaces comprises (i) a paraffin wax in an amount of from 0.3-4.5% w/w and (ii) a microcrystalline wax in an amount of from 0.05-1.0% w/w - preferably in combination with beeswax and a silicon oil. An organic solvent and water are present, and there may additionally be a surfactant and, in aerosol can applications, a propellant. The polish gives good glass without tendency to smearing and good resistance to water damage. |
