abstract |
A method of measuring the concentration of water in an ion exchange membrane by measuring the absorbency of electromagnetic radiation transmitted through the membrane, the radiation being absorbed by water molecules within the membrane, and calculating the concentration of water molecules in the membrane by using the measured thickness of the membrane. The thickness of the membrane may be measured using a thickness gauge. |
