| abstract |
A keyboard having an internal power supply, particularly for use with a mobile telephone, has a means to monitor the connection state of an external device and a means to control the state of the power supply according to the connection state of the external device. The control means sets the keyboard device to an active state if a connection is detected and a standby state if not. The keyboard also enters a standby state if there is no key operation for more than a predetermined period, or if any key is depressed for more than a predetermined period. |
