abstract Monocular borescope or endoscope 10 has a tube with a distal end and a proximal end connected to a housing. An image relaying means defines a longitudinal axis L and a viewing means comprises an ocular lens 20 with an offset mask 8 defines a cental axis which is parallel to and offset from the longitudinal axis L. In other embodiments the ocular lens 20 can be coincident with both the central axis C and the longitudinal axis L. The eye E is shown with the image 30 on a retina of the eye together with corresponding image 32.
