titleOfInvention Wiring unit with pair in-line insulation displacement contacts
abstract A wire connecting unit (14) for an electrical connector includes a printed circuit board (16) and four pairs of terminals (18-32). The printed circuit board has nose (44) and termination (46) areas, and a wire receiving passageway (106) extending along an axis (108 in the termination area (46). Contact connections (48-62) are mounted in the nose area (44). Terminal connection (80-94) are mounted in the termination area (46). Conductive paths (110-124) on the circuit board (16) electrically couple respective contact connections and terminal connections. Each of the terminals (18-32) has a coupling portion (68) mechanically and electrically coupled through one of the terminal and electrically coupled through one of the terminal conditions (80-94), and has a insulation displacement contact portion (72). Each insulation displacement contact portion (72) is adjacent the wire receiving passageway (106). The terminals of each pair have spacings between them which are smaller than the spacings between the pairs.
