titleOfInvention Optics alignment system for an analyte testing system
abstract An analyte testing meter is provided with an optics block holder 45 which is positioned on a printed circuit board to align the electro-optics components, such as LED 50 and photodetector 60 on the printed circuit board and the optics containing light directing elements such as lenses 30 35 40, with the electro-optics elements. The assembly provides a low cost meter having reduced error in optical reading. The system uses test strips 1 aligned by features 5, 10, 20, 25. Multi-wavelength testing is envisaged. The system may be used to measure blood glucose levels.
