abstract | A dental adhesive set comprising (a) a tooth surface conditioning agent being an aqueous solution of an acid such as phosphoric, citric or maleic acid and (b) a bonding material. The bonding material comprises (i) a fluoroalumino silicate glass, (ii) one or more polymerisable unsaturated organic compounds having at least one CH<SB>2</SB>=CR<SB>1</SB>-COO-, group where R<SB>1</SB> is H or CH<SB>3</SB>, such as acrylic or methacrylic esters and not having an acid group, (iii) an inorganic and/or organic acid such as phosphoric, hydrochloric, sulphuric, nitric, citric, succinic, boric, fumaric, tartaric, malic, maleic, ethylenediaminetetraacetic, tricarballylic, levulinic, polymers of a , b -unsaturated carboxylic acid and methacrylates or acrylates having an acid group, (iv) water and (v) a photopolymerisation catalyst. Some specific examples of (ii) are methyl methacrylate, ethyl methacrylate, 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate, 1-6-hexanediol dimethacrylate, urethane methacrylate or acrylate. |
