A continuous dosing regimen for the treatment of conditions such as osteoporosis, Paget's disease, bone fracture, periodontal disease or hypercalcaemia comprises the administration of bisphosphonates, preferably alendronate, in relatively high unit dosages at intervals selected from the group consisting of once-weekly, twice-weekly, biweekly or twice-monthly dosing. The dosage regimen is effective in minimising adverse gastrointestinal problems such as oesophagitis and dyspepsia. |
