titleOfInvention | Improvements in and relating to internal combustion engines |
abstract | 233,565. Baron, H., (Lanz, H., [Firm of]). July 18, 1924. Two-stroke-cycle engines; cylinders, construction of, pipes for, and cooling; piston pumps.- A horizontal engine for motor vehicles and ship propulsion has a water container c and a fuel reservoir d, which are arranged over the cylinder a and the crank case b, these parts being preferably formed in one piece by casting. A space e admits air to the crank case. which acts as a scavenging-pump. The flanges to be machined' are arranged in planes normal to one another so that a number of units may be mounted adjacent and machined in one operation, the whole of the units being rotated through a right angle to machine the next series of faces. A partitioned cover h has integral with it an exhaust pipe i<1>, a steam escape pipe l and an air inlet pipe k. Specification 108,769 is referred to. |
