A sliding bearing 2 is mounted in a housing 1 (eg an internal combustion engine) to support a rotary shaft. To reduce fretting, at least one of the outer surface of the bearing or the inner surface of the housing is covered with a coating layer 2a which consists of, by weight, 3-50% solid lubricant, 1-50% hard particles, and the balance of polyamide-imide resin, the total amount of solid lubricant and hard particles being 90% or less. The lubricant may comprise ptfe, MoS 2 , or graphite; and the particles may comprise an oxide, a nitride, a carbide, or a fluoride. The layer may be 2-30~m thick. |
