abstract |
A container for transporting nuclear fuel substances comprises a plurality of drums 5 for storing the substances, the drums being stacked one above the other, and a plurality of neutron absorber plates 6 interposed among the drums. The plates lower the neutron effective multiplication factor among the drums. In embodiments, the plates may be located within the drums either at the top or the bottom of thereof (Figures 3 & 4). The plates may comprise 18Cr8Ni stainless steel with B or Cd. |
